I’m a generalist (who sometimes would like to get specialized then gets bored, and tries something entirely new). I’m mostly driven by aesthetics. My creations usually have to do with visuals or music. I’m fascinated by generative art. Sometimes I take photos, sometimes I create by coding, and I have tons of music-related gear (mostly sampler/sequencer combos) next to my desk.

Coaster

Back in January, I sawed off the trunk of a discarded Christmas tree. Now, I cut a slice from it to use as a coaster for my morning coffee, using highly ineffective tools (no vice, pocket-saw). I also created this website to have a place where I can put the picture of this coaster.

I made a neck strap from climbing rope, and waxed thread for my camera. I also shot my first roll of film in 20+ years since I had it hanging from my neck.

Nothing here is digital

Using an enlarger, I exposed one of my first film negatives onto photo paper. I’m fascinated by the result that has not been touched by anything digital. I also transformed my bathroom into a darkroom.

Clickety Clacks

I have a surprising amount of project ideas that depend on the sounds typewriters make. I recorded those familiar clacks and line ending dings while I was interviewing Erika.

New Frontiers

With the help of my insistent new neighbours, I dug some poles to mark the non-chewable boundaries of the land we’ll be sharing from now on. I also moved into a small house on wheels.

Facelift

I persuaded my friend to let me try refurbishing his kitchen cabinets before buying completely new doors. The first door is already up with a sexy new look, and closes softly thanks to hydraulic hinges. I’m happy it hadn’t been discarded.

Bound to Happen

I was always fond of empty notebooks containing all that infinite potential. Creating one feels like granting that potential to someone. I hope this one lands in the hands of someone nice.

Going Nuts

I wanted to surprise a little one I like very much with a hand made instrument. I hope her parents won’t go nuts listening to her 99th concert.

I have long had an urge to live closer again to nature and animals, and now that I managed to set up residence in a beautiful place, I feel a similar pull in my photography. Here’s one of my first attempts at more intentional nature/wildlife photography. A portrait of a small friend.

I’m now part time living in a house on wheels. When not on the road, it needed some stairs for easier access. I made some, using wood I found nearby. I painted it with the help of my loved ones.

Short Story Time

Sometimes, I just want to hear a short story in the evening. Not being part of a bigger arc, no commentary, no any other fuss, just the story. As I have already listened to the ones that I could find in Hungarian, I recorded myself reading a story I’ve just found in a book written by a contemporary author, and uploaded to a Telegram channel called Felolvasó (it’s in Hungarian). Maybe more will follow.

Raised Bed Time

Although winter hasn’t started yet, I felt like preparing for the next spring already. I made a raised bed from scrap wood, found the perfect place where both the first and last rays of sunlight would be felt, and started filling it with sticks and leaves. With a lot of help obviously. Here’s to next year’s crop!

Future Placeholder

For a long time, some kind of an online portfolio/showcase site has been on my someday maybe list. As a first step, I created a simple about page on a domain I purchased. The background-image is a cooperation of mine with Dall•e to keep up with the recent changes of the world. Also, I started preferring yellow recently.
